The premiering episode of the season attracted almost 11 million people, which is a record-breaking number in TV history.
So, it would be not wrong to assume that the season final of the show will attract even more people to the series, proving its success once again.
It is not surprising to see so many people enjoying Yellowstone. Simply put, the series is a modern take on a traditional Western genre on the TV screen.
However, in reality, it is much more than that. Yellowstone is a show about family, honor, and politics.
It is following the Duttons who are the owners of the Yellowstone ranch in Montana. The family has been holding on to the ranch for 200 years and has no intention of giving up on it.
And yet, there is a high demand on the land of the ranch since multiple investment companies are aiming to hold on to it to transform the era with massive projects such as an airport.
The family also suffers in terms of intra-family relationships. All of them have different characteristics that often clash with one another, causing major drama within the family.
Yellowstone manages to handle all these realistically, enabling us to resonate with everything that has been going on in the show.
However, it also does not give up on focusing symbolism to either foreshadow what to expect to visualize what has been going on in the background.
Of course, most of these symbolisms are only for the fans who are determined to analyze every single bit of the series.
Thankfully, we are one of those fans who never get tired of breaking down the symbolism in Yellowstone.
In the previous episode, we saw Kayce relaxing on the porch of his new home. He was startled to notice a wolf staring at him.
Kayce was taken aback by the image because their home is not in a wolf-infested area. That is to say, something remarkable must have enticed it to come there.
Either it got lost somehow, or someone deliberately brought the animal there. Kayce immediately called the interested parties and questioned why there is a wolf in his garden.
Before we even got the chance to learn what is the wolf doing there, Monica came in and announced that she is pregnant with her second child.
Now, there is a lot to unpack here. On the one hand, the wolf poses an unnatural threat to the family.
Many fan theories already discuss that it is too much of a coincidence to show a wolf and then learn about Monica’s pregnancy.
The supporters of this theory believe that the appearance of the wolf suggests that something bad will happen to Monica since the animal represents the danger against Kayce’s family.
Some even claim that the wolf will attack Monica and kill her. Others express that she will lose her baby after the attack.
The supporters of this theory express that this will be the beginning of a new revenge sub-plot since Kayce will figure out who is responsible for placing the wolf there.
They express that wolf was deliberately brought near Kayce’s house so that his family would be injured by it.
Even though it sounds unbelievable at first, we believe this is a pretty solid theory because Taylor Sheridan, the creator of the show, loves foreshadowing events.
The look on Kayce’s face when he saw the wolf was highly uncanny, suggesting that he also felt that the danger is nearby.
Besides, let’s be clear, whenever someone is very happy in Yellowstone, something happens to ruin that happiness.
In the last couple of episodes, we watched Kayce and his family re-building their relationship, starting a new life, and falling in love with each other all over again.
This is too good to be true to last longer. Since we are approaching the season finale, we believe we will witness some terrible things happening to Kayce and Monica in the next two episodes, and the wolf will somehow be involved in it.
That being said, since Sheridan is highly fond of the symbolism, the wolf might also be just symbolizing some things that will be about to happen to the family.

Interestingly, this is not the first time that we saw a wolf staring at Kayce in Yellowstone. Back in Season 3, when Kayce and Monica were getting intimate in the forest, they were interrupted by a wolf, which was insistent on spying over the couple.
At the time, it felt like a comedic relief for most of us, since we didn’t realize it might mean more than that.
However, now that we are witnessing a wolf for the 2nd time in the show, once again staring at Kayce, we felt the need to look up the symbolic meaning of a wolf.
As we all know, Monica is a Native American. In her culture, wolves are sacred animals as they believe that God roamed the earth in the form of the wolves.
Thus, the wolves are associated with courage, strength, and loyalty. Most tribes see the animal as medicine to the problems in the world.
Besides, the wolf is considered a symbol of extreme devotion to the family. Knowing all these, we can come up with some deductions on the wolf’s meaning in the series.
It might signify the longevity of Monica and Kayce’s relationship. It might also suggest that Monica will require the power of the wolf as medicine since she will have difficulties in her pregnancy.
Either way, we know that Sheridan did not put that wolf there twice for no reason, and We will probably get to know why he had done it in the next couple of episodes.
